Outlook 2000 hangs on exit
Here is the PATCH for this related KB article -
When you try to quit Microsoft Outlook 2000, you receive the following message and Outlook 2000 does not quit:
Note: This problem may also occur if you try to quit Outlook 2000 after
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 was used to open your mailbox or if another user

I have SPK4 installed on Win2k, and running outlook 2k. I also receive the message to please wait while outlook exits... this hangs and I have to manually kill this app. Do I need this patch as well?

Never mind the last note. I saved the patch to the outlook dir, and ran from here. This time it worked. Thank you Neal!

Anyone know if there is a similar patch for the same problem but with Outlook 98 rather than 2K?

The UK says cheers for that patch. Microsoft really do take the biscuit. I tried to get the patch and they give me the blow-off saying I had to pay for it. Unbelievable
Hmmm I thought....the fact my company has already forked out for 150 Office 2000 licenses is not good enough for Microsoft!! Down with MS, and pray lets get some apps that actaully work.
Thanks again.

This corrected a hanging problem when the client didn't like Outlook 2003 and I had to change back to Outlook 2000. This patch is now a part of my toolkit. Thanks.

thanks for the patch. Running Outlook 2000 on Citrix Presentation Server 4, and outlook closes after a brief pause, as opposed to it hanging prior to SP1a and the patch. Thanks again for the web site!

Well, I must be the only one it doesn't work for. When I close Outlook 2K and then check the tasks running - it is still there ! Have tried all sorts of patches and can get nowhere. Anyone else got any bright ideas?
